CBp Carbon Power Generation
Cogeneration
Cogeneration is an economical and environmentally-friendly way to generate heat and power.
The hot exhaust gases of the CBp CoGen-2 gas turbine are used for process and/or heating applications (i.e. electricity and heat are generated simultaneously). Depending on the application an CBp CoGen-2-based cogeneration plant can reach overall efficiencies on the order 90%.
The CBp CoGen-2 is ideally suited for chemical plants, food industry, hotels, breweries, green houses, telecommunication centers and a variety of other businesses. In such applications the CBp CoGen-2 can be depended upon as a reliable, low emissions power source that efficiently generates both heat and electricity.
Replacing the firing of an existing boiler by the exhaust heat of an CBp CoGen-2 will significantly reduce energy bills. Many heating applications use steam, water or thermal oil as intermediate media for heating or absorption cooling.
Possible applications for use of the exhaust heat include:
- Absorption cooling and air conditioning
- District heating
- Steam generation for process industry (especially such as the rubber industry)
CBp CoGen 2 - Tires-to-Energy System (1.5 - 2.0 MW Turbine Engine)

- Low emissions combustor - An engine version is available with ultra low emissions over the whole operating range.
- Dual fuel capability (fuel gas and diesel), with automatic change-over under load.
- High efficiency gearbox - The high efficiency, planetary gearbox for 50 or 60 Hz applications is an integral part of the engine.
- Lubrication - The CBp CoGen-2 is designed to operate with both mineral and synthetic lube oils. Oil consumption is essentially zero.
- Single stage radial turbine - High peripheral speed of the radial turbine allows high expansion ratio, high efficiency and high firing temperature without the complexity of blade cooling.
- Starter options - Pneumatic, hydraulic and electric starting options are available.
- Durability - Robust design ensures durability, reliability and low cost of ownership.
